Cellulose
Insul-Pro, Inc., proudly installs Cellulose systems.  Cellulose building thermal insulation is recycled product made from recovered news print and other paper (wood fiber) feedstock.  Paper, especially newsprint, represents one of the largest single components of the residential waste stream, and a major disposal problem for communities throughout the nation.  Insulating a typical 1,500 square foot ranch-style home with cellulose insulation productively recycles as much newsprint as an individual will consume in 40 years. (Based on data from the Naitonal Solid Wastes Management Association)  If America’s new homes were insulated with cellulose, over 3.2 million tons of waste newsprint could be removed from the waste stream every year and put to productive use conserving vital energy resources.

WHERE IS CELLULOSE INSTALLED?

Cathedral Ceilings and Slopes – These areas are often a BIG factor in heat loss due to venting.  As air pulls through the slope it pulls heated or cooled energy from the glass.  Because of cellulose’s dense nature this is not a factor that will save you 30 % to 40% on your energy bill.

Exterior Walls in Existing Homes – Insul-Pro, Inc. can install cellulose into existing homes by removing exterior siding in most projects.  The only way you’ll know we were there is the outside noise reduction and lower energy bills again will save you 30% to 40% . 

Exterior Walls in New Construction – Insul-Pro, Inc. installs the wall spray system which creates a seamless dense air barrier to the outside elements by completely filling each caving sealing around pipes, electrical wiring, and other obstructions again lowering energy bills 30% to 40%.

Interior Walls in New Construction – Insul-Pro, Inc. installing cellulose can completely deaden sound in bedrooms, baths, laundry rooms, and any room in your house with the wall spray system by providing outstanding sound control.

CELLULOSE VS FIBERGLASS

Fiberglass Batt Insulation cannot be fitted tightly around pipes, wires, and electrical boxes.  Gaps and Depressions are created when batts are cut to fit, and pressed around plumbing and electrical details.  This seriously degrades the thermal performance of the wall.  A tight, uncompromised thermal barrier is created when dense-packed or sprayed cellulose insulation fits around everything in the wall.

                                           SAFETY
Because it is an organic material cellulose is treated with fire retardants. It is the only common wood fiber-based residential and light commercial construction material that always receives such treatment. This makes cellulose insulation one of the safest construction materials on the market. Studies of actual fires and demonstration burns have proven that the dense fiber structure of cellulose and the fire retardants slow the spread of fire through a building, giving occupants more time to escape and fire fighters more time to save the structure. Scientists at the National Research Council Canada have reported that cellulose insulation increases the fire resistance of insulated building assemblies by 22% to 55%. In contrast, fiber glass insulation decreases the fire resistance of assemblies identical in every way, except for the insulation.
